State Committee Members get
NO PAY, NO PRESTIGE
but they do get the
Power of a Vote.
State Committee Members are volunteers. In fact, it costs them hundreds of dollars in food and lodging to attend the State Party Meetings and Regional Caucus Meetings.
Most People don't know anything about State Committee Members or their role. So its not a job that impresses anyone.
State Committee Members vote on the budget of the Pennsylvania Republican Party. They vote on whether or not to endorse candidates for state-wide offices, and if an endorsement is made, who will be endorsed. An endorsement from the Pennsylvania Republican Party all but guarantees a win in the Primary Election. Finally, State Committee Members vote for the Officers of the Pennsylvania Republican Party, including the State Party Chairman who has enormous power over the direction of the Party.
Erie County Republican State Committee Members are elected every four years by registered Erie County Republicans in the Primary Election held in May ahead of the mid-terms. Based upon our population, Erie County Republicans are represented at the state-level GOP by three State Committeewomen, three State Committeemen, and the Chair of the Erie County Republican Party. Our slate of candidates seeks to give Erie Republicans robust, transparent, America First representation.

Michelle is a God-fearing, Jesus-loving wife of 26 years and mother of five children ranging in ages from 20 years old to 3 years old. She is an active member of her church who homeschools her children from birth through high school. She is a board member of a classical, Christian homeschool co-op and a tenured college mathematics professor. Michelle was shocked by the rampant lawlessness of the November 2020 election and took action, praying fervently for the restoration of our Republic and writing to all of the Pennsylvania Republican lawmakers to let them know her expectation that they do their their duty and stop the certification of the PA election until a thorough investigation could be performed and all illegal votes cast out. Dismayed by the lack of courage and/or integrity in the PA legislature, the Pennsylvania GOP, and the courts, Michelle decided to get involved in the local chapter of the Pennsylvania GOP, the Erie County Republican Committee (ECRC). In April 2021, she created a website for the ECRC (www.EriePA.gop) to improve communication between Erie County Republicans and the ECRC and to serve as the tool of choice for Erie County voters to research Republican candidates ahead of future Primary and General elections. In recognition of the service she provided, the ECRC chairman then appointed Michelle to serve on his executive committee. Michelle continues to prayerfully work on outreach initiatives for the ECRC with the understanding that “Unless the Lord builds the house, those who build it labor in vain. Unless the Lord watches over the city, the watchman stays awake in vain.” Psalm 127:1 ESV

Why I am I doing this? My picture says it all! For our children, our grandchildren, the beautiful next generations to come, that they might also enjoy the peace and prosperity that come with an ethical Republic rooted in responsible and absolute personal freedom. I am Karen Alex, an Erie County resident with roots dating back to the late 1800's, when my Polish grandparents first immigrated to America. Generations of my family in Erie have built and served in schools and churches and started businesses, along with pursuing occupations in the trades, medicine, law, military and public service. I currently work for the family business and homeschool my youngest son. In addition, as a parent of five children and grandmother of three, I have spent almost 20 years in the education field as a tutor and classical homeschool parent. My lifelong interest in robust education coupled with a lifelong love of the great American experiment is the catalyst for my interest in representing the Erie County Republican voter. Economic, civic and personal freedoms are preserved by a well educated citizenry who is informed enough to demand good governance from elected leaders rather than submit to poor governance by the same.

Ryan was born and raised just outside of Pittsburgh. Ever since high school, Ryan has been actively working to get Republicans elected at all levels. After graduating from Slippery Rock University, Ryan went to work in the district office of a United States Congressman. In this role, Ryan worked hand in hand with elected leaders from more than 100 municipal governments on a variety of local issues including storm water management, business revitalization, capital project funding, and more. Even after transitioning to the private sector, Ryan continued to work in Republican politics, including serving as Campaign Manager for a PA State House race and as a Digital Director for a Presidential campaign. Though they could have chosen anywhere to start their new family, Ryan and his wife, Kacie chose North East Borough because of the wonderful neighborhoods (and neighbors!), vibrant business community, and engaging community events. Currently, Ryan works as the Director of Business Intelligence for an international logistics company finding actionable insights into data. Ryan has used these skills to craft successful election strategies using a data driven approach. Since being elected as a Borough Councilman in 2021, Ryan has been working to make our local government as open and accessible as possible, including improving access to community meetings, encouraging entrepreneurship, creating more community events and expanding resources / programs in our parks. Ryan, Kacie, and their adorable daughter love living in North East and are very active members of Park United Methodist Church.

Byron Eddy, best known as Tom, was born in SW Pa and grew up north of Buffalo, NY. Tom has been a lifelong registered Republican and conservative. He returned to PA to attend and graduate with a degree in HPE from Slippery Rock State College. He met his wife, Twila, while at Slippery Rock, and then started his career teaching high school at Fairview School District in 1971. They raised their family of two children, Chris and Jenny, which now includes three grandsons. Tom is proud to acknowledge that all in his family are strong Republicans and Patriots. Proud also that both children served their country in the military. Tom taught 35 years, as well as coached several sports before retiring. During his tenure at Fairview High School, he was President of the Fairview Education Association and served as President of the Erie County Coaches Association. In addition to his teaching, Tom worked for Roadway Trucking for over ten years and was a member of the Teamsters Union. He also had a painting business for 30 years. Tom has been active in promoting Republican Conservative candidates for some time and believes that hard work and personal freedoms are the bedrock of this country’s future. During the last election Tom was instrumental in raising thousands of dollars to erect billboards in and around Erie County promoting Republican candidates. He has for years worked for numerous candidates promoting throughout the area their candidacies by raising money, manning phone banks and canvassing door to door to get out the vote for strong conservative Republican Candidates. Recently, Tom spearheaded the relocation of the Republican Party’s Headquarters to 1600 Peninsula Dr. with the goal of making the Republican Party Headquarters more accessible to residents of Erie County as well as providing visibility to the community of the Republican Party. Presently Tom and his wife Twila are elected members of the Erie County Republican Committee representing Fairview’s 3rd voting district. Tom is currently serving as a Republican State Committee Member for Erie County. Tom’s goals are to continue to represent the residents of Fairview and Erie County both locally and within the State GOP by emphasizing the values and principles that are America First. The current direction that our State and Country is headed is unacceptable and policies need to be developed and presented throughout our communities and State to change this current destructive path. Tom wishes to work to establish policy changes through the Republican Party that lead to a more prosperous environment for our families, communities, state, and country.
